COMETOGETHER WIDOWS AND ORPHANS ORGANIZATION

Advocate | Inspire | Empower

CTWOO is a registered Non-Profit Organization in Kenya, officially recognized by the NGO Co-ordination Board under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act since January 2019. Our journey began as a Community- Based Organization on 10th October 2013, and over time, we evolved into an NGO, empowering us to extend our services to Widows and Orphans across the entire country.

About Us

Empowering Widows and Orphans for a Brighter Future

Come Together Widows and Orphans Organization is dedicated to Advancing Gender Equality and Ensuring Widows in all 47 counties in Kenya an have Equitable Access to Resources, Opportunities and that they don't loose their Dignity and they fully enjoy their Human Rights. CTWOO Champions for the protection of Human Rights and Uphold the Dignity of Widows, in alighnment with international standards including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the Convention on the Rights of The Child. CTWOO believes that widows and their children are integral members of the family, despite the community and society often attempting to marginalize them after the loss of a husband and father to their children. Therefore, CTWOO places a strong focus on equipping widows, their children, and members of the community with knowledge about Family Law to ensure they are not subjected to discrimination rooted in harmful cultural practices.

CTWOO'S Belief

We envision a society in which social justice, human rights, hapiness and prosperity are guaranteed for every widow and orphan in Kenya.

To put in place strategies and policies that ensure widows’ and orphans’ rights are guaranteed, protected and that they are economically, socially and politically empowered and that they live fulfilled lives.

Our Strategy

ADVOCATE

We employ a multi-faceted advocacy strategy, focusing on raising public awareness through community engagement and media campaigns, while also lobbying for legislative changes to enhance the rights and welfare of widows. By partnering with local and international NGOs, we amplify our efforts and ensure a broader impact.

Inspire

We implement community-based programs that provide widows with education and economic empowerment opportunities, fostering resilience and independence. We also focus on creating supportive networks and mentorship programs that inspire widows to advocate for their rights and take on leadership roles within their communities.

Empower

We center on providing widows with access to vocational training and financial resources, enabling them to achieve economic self-sufficiency. We also offer legal support and advocacy training, empowering widows to assert their rights and actively participate in policy-making processes that affect their lives.
